C-GPS Plug-In - Wavecom's new GPS location solution

Wavecom's C-GPS solution, utilising eRide's OPUS GPS technology, is now available for the Q26 range of Wireless CPUs. The high sensitivity GPS chipset or module, together with a user application written in OpenAT®, present a highly integrated, very compact, location and communication solution, primarily aimed at the vehicle, people and asset tracking markets. The C-GPS Plug-In will also be available for the Wireless Microprocessor.

Wavecom releases the Wireless Microprocessor

Wavecom's Wireless Microprocessor is a 32 bit embedded computing core, which supports GSM/GPRS communications. The device, based on ARM9 technology, is available in a 1mm pitch BGA576 package. A Hardware Development Kit is available, together with an OpenAT® IDE, enabling customers to develop complete applications in ANSI C.

Wavecom launches new Fastrack Supreme Wireless CPU®

Commercially available from September 2007, the Fastrack Supreme Wireless CPU® accommodates various new features whilst providing backward compatibility with the Fastrack M1306B. As the Fastrack Supreme is the latest development in the Fastrack family from Wavecom, it will replace the Fastrack M1306B during quarter three of 2007.

Wavecom has developed an open standard Internal Expansion Socket (IES) interface for the Fastrack Supreme, allowing additional IO connectivity with the inclusion of features such as GPS, Bluetooth etc. The open interface will allow development of individual expansion modules customised for specific user requirements. Wavecom will provide a choice of 3 Expansion Cards; one for IO expansion with mini USB connectivity, one for GPS functionality with USB or IO expansion and one for IO expansion, GPS functionality and USB. Wavecom expects to offer additional expansion modules in the future.

The Fastrack Supreme also features Wavecom's Open AT® Software Suite, offering Real-Time native execution of embedded C applications, plus download-over-the-air (DOTA) capabilities for simple and cost-effective upgrades and maintenance. Open AT® will enable developers to fully embed their software application inside the Fastrack Supreme, reducing product design and material costs.
