16th August 2010, Espoo, Finland - Bluegiga Technologies announced today the availability of its new Long Range Bluetooth Access Point – AP3241.

The AP3241 is designed for various health and medical applications, Bluetooth proximity marketing, industrial telemetry applications, and point of sale systems.

The AP3241 provides +20 dBm output power and provides more than 1000 meters of range between AP3241s. The AP3241 also incorporates a low noise amplifier that significantly improves receiver sensitivity and extends range to Bluetooth devices such as cell phones, smart phones, or PDAs to 80 meters, three times more than any other Bluetooth access solution currently on the market.

The AP3241 is comes in packaged and OEM versions and is available with several embedded applications enabling data communications and management for eHealth, proximity marketing, and bridging of industrial devices onto TCP/IP networks. Bluegiga also offers a software development kit for embedded application development for the AP3241 and BSM software for streamlining network management and maintenance of larger scale deployments.
